NOTICE
|
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has contacted us and informed us of a scam that is currently taking place regarding inmates in our facility and probably other facilities.
Apparently, an individual will call the inmates family and advise them that they can pay $2,500.00 through Apple Pay and get their family member out of jail. We do not call family members soliciting money to bond someone out of jail, nor do we authorize any outside agency to make such calls. If you receive a call like this, I suggest that you contact your local law enforcement and let them know. The JCSD is currently investigating at least one case where the caller was successful in getting an individual to pay the money. Again, if you receive a call like this, it is a SCAM.
